Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi appears to have failed in convincing the people as to why they should elect his party to power in the next elections.
His mantra is “change.” But what is that change? Chiranjeevi is not able to explain to the people what change he would bring about in the lives of the people if he comes to power. But, he wants the people to bring a change in the ruling party. “Why do you always choose between only the Congress and Telugu Desam? They have been ruling the State one after the other in the last three decades. Both the parties are nothing but two sides of the same coin. Now, it is the time to experiment with a third alternative: Praja Rajyam Party,” he said at a public meeting in Nellore.
Political analysts say this argument will not go down well with the people. They do not want change of political parties in power for the sake of change. They want a change in the governance. And Chiranjeevi would have to focus on how he would give a better governance. As long as he is concentrating on inviting defectors from other parties, rather than projecting an alternative model of governance, people would not believe him.
