Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi would embark on his much awaited districts tour in the first week of next month. The exact date would be announced in a day or two, Chiranjeevi told reporters here on monday.
"The tour would be planned keeping in view of the Dusserah and Dipavali festivals. We do not want to disturb the festival mood. I would tour three districts in five or six days and will give a break before the commencement of the next leg of the tour," the actor said.
Chiranjeevi appointed former member of parliament KSR Murty as chairman of a committee which would study the problems of the weavers in the State with a special focus on the Siricilla weavers,whom he visited few days ago. The committee would submit its report within a week and its suggestions would be incorporated in the party manifesto.
Meanwhile, sharing his Siricilla experiences, Chiranjeevi said that the conditions of weavers were appalling and they were not getting any benefits from the Government’s schemes, especially the power loom weavers. The suicides of the weavers still continue, he said.
Reacting to the comments made by TD MLA Ch Rajeswara Rao, the star said that his intention was not to hurt the eminent leader, but the conditions at Siricilla were compelling.
He said that he had great respect toward the veteran communist leader.
